ASI Blue Ribbon Workforce Awards: Mickey’s Collision Center

Mickey Fortner started Mickey’s Collision Center in 1984. Ashley Fowler grew up in the business, starting out in the wash bay detailing cars as a young girl, while her husband, Heath, came on at a young age and learned the trade from the ground floor up. When Mickey retired, he didn’t just close up shop; he handed the keys to his daughter. Ashley and Heath took over in 2012, carrying the company forward.

Mickey’s Collision Center provides collision repair services and stands behind every car it works on. That reputation for honesty and high-quality work has helped the business earn trust throughout the industry. One of the company’s biggest ongoing challenges, and one of its greatest achievements, has been growing the business despite a constantly changing environment. The Fowlers say what they’re most proud of is that Mickey’s has remained family-owned through the transition, and they remain willing to bring on new employees and give them an opportunity to learn the trade.

The Fowlers say owning a business in Conway has been a great experience, and as the community has grown, they’ve been able to maintain long-term relationships with other businesses and residents in the area.
