NBMC was founded by Ray Nabholz, who grew up running dirt work projects with his father, Bernard, before beginning his career in general contracting during college, working alongside his uncles and cousins as a project manager. Since 1992, the company has grown from a small general contractor into one that covers the entire Southeast United States, specializing in commercial and industrial construction.
Ray started the company with little more than his reputation, a small amount of savings, and four young children at home. Growth wasn’t easy and came with its share of ups and downs, but the company continued to build. Today, two of Ray’s children and two nephews, Grant Nabholz, Rebekah Nabholz Smyly, Miles Bell, and Blake Bell, have stepped into ownership and leadership roles with NBMC.
As the next generation has stepped into ownership, the company has stayed involved in the Conway community behind the scenes, volunteering at Toad Suck Daze, serving on boards for local nonprofits, taking part in the Associated General Contractors, and meeting with other business owners to learn about their vision for the future.
