Conway Corp Employee Earns National Journeyman Certification
Conway Corp has promoted Kaleb Barkley to journeyman meterman after he successfully completed the meter technician certification program through Northwest Lineman College.
The program requires more than 150 training hours and the successful completion of ten exams covering topics such as safety standards, electrical systems, transformers, special elements, trouble investigation and crew leadership.
Barkley began his career with Conway Corp as a groundman in 2015 and entered the apprentice meterman program in 2018.
First Community Bank Hires Zeke Dixon
First Community Bank hired Zeke Dixon as vice president of commercial lending at its branch located at 1089 Front St. in Conway. In his role, Dixon will focus primarily on commercial lending within Conway County and the surrounding region.
Central Baptist College Makes Three New Hires
Elizabeth Riley is joining the Central Baptist College admissions office as a personal admissions counselor. She previously served as a student faculty secretary at CBC. Riley will graduate in May with her Bachelor of Science in Communications from Central Baptist College.
Mary Catherine Harvison has joined the admissions office and will be serving as the director of admissions. Harvison formerly served as the director of admissions and academic instructor at LSU Shreveport, campus experience coordinator at Arkansas State University, and as the regional director of enrollment services at Lyon College.
Deandriea Bass-Carrigan has joined CBC as the Behavioral Science Department chair and professor. Bass-Carrigan has served as the deputy chief of field services and a rehab area manager for Arkansas Rehabilitation Services.
Winthrop Rockefeller Institute Hires CFO, Promotes Program Officer
Payton Christenberry has been promoted to associate director of programs at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute. Christenberry previously served as senior program officer.
Shawn Cathey has been hired as chief financial officer, providing leadership for all financial matters. Cathey previously served as senior director of finance at Winrock International for 21 years. Cathey is a certified public accountant. Prior to joining Winrock, he held various accounting and management positions in rural healthcare.
Mainstream Technologies Hires Jonathon Turchi
Mainstream Technologies hired Jonathon Turchi as managed services engineer. He will be providing support for managed service clients, which can range from simple workstation issues to complex matters related to client servers and network infrastructure.
Creative Institute Adds New Board Members
Karla DeFreitas and Angela Webster have been appointed to the Creative Institute of Central Arkansas board of directors. They will both serve two-year terms.
DeFreitas is a campus recruiter for Gainwell Technologies. Webster is chief diversity officer and associate vice president for institutional diversity and inclusion at the University of Central Arkansas.
Tom Watson Construction Named 2021 Energy Smart Builder of the Year
Tom Watson Construction was named the 2021 Energy Smart Builder of the Year by Conway Corp. The company built 14 homes in 2021 that were designated as energy smart, and has built 50 energy smart homes in the last three years.
Energy smart homes use less energy than standard-built homes and help save homeowners money and energy. Specifications from the U.S. Department of Energy recommendations show energy smart homes can save 20-30% energy use over a standard built home.
