Fatburger Coming to Dave Ward Drive Later This Year

Fatburger, a fast-casual burger joint, is coming to 2205 Dave Ward Drive later this year. The location is the former home of Steak ‘n Shake

Fatburger offers a number of variations of The Fatburger, ranging from the original — a third-pound of beef with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard, pickles and relish on a bun — to the pound-and-a-half Triple Kingburger.

It also has grilled and crispy chicken sandwiches, homemade onion rings, four variations of fries — skinny, fat, sweet potato and chili cheese — and hand-scooped milkshakes, among other options. The restaurant will also have bone-in and boneless wings.

The Conway location will feature a Fatbar — a full-service bar with a selection of draft beer, cocktails, margaritas and more, including spiked milkshakes.

Fatburger, coined The Last Hamburger Stand, was founded more than 70 years ago in Los Angeles, California. It has locations stretching from the west coast to the midwest. This will be the second location operated by Colt Harmon. The first, a Fatburger & Buffalo’s Express, opened last year in Greenbrier.

As a fast-casual spot, Harmon said patrons can expect a high-quality burger and meal that doesn’t require as much time as a traditional, sit-down restaurant.

“We want people to come in and experience the environment and have a great meal with a drink if they choose to,” Harmon said. “We will have a drive-thru and we’ll be quick, but we aren’t a fast-food establishment. We are cook-to-order so it will take a bit longer.”
