Central Baptist College Elects New Trustees 

Central Baptist College has elected five new members to its board of trustees. Four members will serve five-year terms and one will serve a three-year term. Doug Brewer, Michele Corder, Chris Vines, and Bobby Stoner will serve five-year terms, while Kelly Williams will serve a three-year term.  

Vines will serve as vice chair of the board. 

The new members join Kirk Shelton, chairman; Kellie Harper, secretary; and Lisa Speer, assistant secretary. 

FINANCE 

Matthew Carpenter of Edward Jones recently earned his certified financial planner certification. The certification requires that CFP professionals complete thousands of hours of professional experience, coursework through an accredited college or university, and pass a six-hour comprehensive exam. 

Carpenter has been a financial advisor with Edward Jones since 2014. 

NONPROFITS 

The Conway Area Chamber of Commerce recently promoted Lee Hogan and Rachel Shaw to its leadership team. 

Shaw serves as the executive director of Visit Conway, previously known as the Conway Convention & Visitors Bureau. She was promoted to the position in 2019. In her role, Shaw is responsible for promoting Conway as a destination for youth sports, meeting groups, and leisure travelers. 

Hogan was recently promoted to chief marketing officer at the chamber. He started in the role Jan. 1. Hogan will manage marketing, communications, and public relations for the chamber and its partner organizations.  

TECHNOLOGY 

Mainstream Technologies recently hired Corey Mellon as a software developer. Mellon will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of full-stack software solutions. Mellon holds a bachelor’s degree in information systems from Arkansas Tech University.  

UTILITIES 

Conway Corp Employee Promotions, Certifications 

Customer Care Specialist Kelly Johnston recently earned a master account and sales representative certifications from NCTI. Johnston joined Conway Corp as a customer care specialist in 2004 and was promoted to customer care team lead in 2007.  

Jeff Crownover was recently promoted to telecommunication systems senior engineering tech in the engineering department at Conway Corp. Crownover was hired in 2001 as a GIS data collection specialist. He was most recently promoted to GIS senior technician in 2019. 

Kody Miller was recently promoted to chief plant operator at the Tupelo Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant for Conway Corp. He will assist the plant superintendent while operating and maintaining stationary mechanical equipment such as water pumping equipment engines, air compressors, generators, motors, turbines, and chemical insertion units to provide utilities services to the city of Conway. 

Miller started at Conway Corp in 2018 as a wastewater plant operator apprentice. 

Lane Cullum has been promoted to plant maintenance worker at the Tupelo Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant. He will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment pivotal to wastewater treatment. 

Cullum began his career at Conway Corp as a plant operator apprentice in January 2022. 

Blake Henderson and Kolt Weatherly were recently promoted to journeyman linemen after completing a four-year apprenticeship through the Missouri Public Utility Alliance. 

Henderson started at Conway Corp in 2017 as a groundman. Weatherly started in 2015 as a groundman.
