Turbare Manufacturing, situated in the heart of Conway’s Industrial Park, is a fully automated, FDA registered, 503b specialty outsourcing facility.

It specializes in the sterile production of intravenous medications, FDA drug shortage pharmaceuticals, and critical medication preparations. The company provides high-quality products to hospitals, surgery centers, physician groups, and clinics nationwide. Its goal is to elevate the standard of the 503b compounding industry by producing high-quality products that exceed industry standards in safety, efficacy, and innovation.

“Our commitment to providing world-class care ensures that the needs of customers are not only met, but often exceeded,” Turbare Manufacturing CEO Laura Martin said.

The company’s state-of-the-art facility spans over 44,000 square feet and is situated on seven acres of land designated for future expansion. The carefully designed facility includes expansive and innovative state-of-the-art cleanroom spaces, a 24-hour temperature and humidity-controlled and monitored operations floor and warehouse, custom-built quality control lab, training spaces, a fully equipped kitchen, numerous offices, and a lounge for employees to reset, play ping pong, and interact with each other.

As a 503b outsourcing facility, Turbare plays a crucial role in mitigating drug shortages, which can have significant implications for patient care and public health. These types of facilities typically produce a wide range of sterile compounded medications, including injectables and ophthalmic solutions.

“We step in to alleviate shortages by ramping up production of critical medications,” Martin said. “Our facility is equipped with the necessary infrastructure and expertise to quickly manufacture large quantities of drugs, helping people to bridge the gap between supply and demand.”

Martin stated that the diverse product portfolio allows Turbare to address shortages across various therapeutic areas, ensuring patients have access to essential medications.

“We specialize in the sterile production of intravenous medications, FDA drug shortage pharmaceuticals, and critical medication preparations,” Martin said. “We fill the gap for drug shortages and custom compounds that may be needed for hospitals, surgery centers, and clinics to help prevent errors.

Turbare is also able to ship products from inventory, which creates quicker order-to-receipt turnaround.

“We aim to elevate the 503b compounding industry by exceeding safety and efficacy standards,” Martin said. “Our commitment to exceptional care ensures that we meet and exceed our customers’ needs.”

Without facilities like Turbare, Martin said, many people would go without essential medications.

“Our customer experience department provides top-quality care and builds strong industry relationships,” she said. “We work with clients daily to meet their outsourcing needs, ensuring a personalized experience. Our well-trained staff consistently exceeds expectations and supports the mission of each department.”

As for picking the city of Conway for Turbare, Martin said it was the only place could envision her dream working.

“It attracted me because of the community. It is a diverse city which is easier to get people to relocate to, and we can bring multiple job opportunities to many people,” she said. “Being centrally located, we can cater to all regions of the country in a timely manner.”

Turbare Manufacturing currently has 23 employees and expects to grow to 100 by the end of the year.

“In the next three to five years, we intend on bringing another site to Conway,” Martin said.

With the expansion, Martin said she sees Turbare’s total employment growing to over 200.

“The vision is to help as many people as we possibly can,” Martin said. “By bringing quality to the forefront in the industry, we intend on setting the standard, which means bringing a different light to the regulatory demographic and bringing the highest quality product to the market space.”
