Volstead Proper, a Conway restaurant and bar with a Prohibition theme, announced Thursday its upcoming relocation to downtown Conway. The move was spurred by the recent establishment of the Downtown Entertainment District.
“The moment we heard the news, we knew this was where we needed to be,” the restaurant said in a Facebook post announcing the move. “A place that could elevate our concept and take it to the next level.”
The restaurant’s new location will be the Halter Building at 1125 Oak St., where plans include a distinctive two-story layout, topped by a rooftop bar.
The Volstead team said that while its current location on Dave Ward Drive has garnered support for its food and drinks, the creation of the Entertainment District provided the ideal opportunity to find a space that better aligns with its ambiance and overall vision.
Volstead Proper’s current site will remain open through April 27, after which the transition to the new downtown space will begin. Although a precise reopening date has not been set, the team anticipates a quick move.
“This marks an exciting new chapter for Volstead Proper, and we can’t wait to share it with you!” the statement said.
