Don Pepe’s Gourmet Tacos & Burritos is bringing its fast-casual Mexican food to the east side of Conway.
The restaurant, owned by brothers Jose and Ernesto Castro, has started construction on a second Conway location at 1965 E. Oak St. It is set to open in the spring.

The expansion follows the restaurant’s move into its own standalone building at 2525 Prince St., a decision Jose Castro said has brought steady local support. With a dedicated following, the brothers decided to open a second location across town.
“It’s been a huge blessing, and all of Conway has been really supportive and always good to us,” Castro said.
The new location will bring much of the same that customers have come to love from Don Pepe’s. The 3,800-square-foot restaurant will have capacity for about 100 patrons. Just like its other Conway location, the east Conway restaurant will be open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and will feature the same menu customers have come to love, including burritos, salads, tacos, quesadillas, and bowls.
Castro said the formula behind Don Pepe’s, which emphasizes cleanliness, efficiency, and quick service, is one the family has refined across all its restaurants, which include a third Don Pepe’s location in Bryant, as well as La Pista Pizzeria, a modern Italian restaurant at The Village at Hendrix, and Los 3 Potrillos, a casual, sit-down Mexican restaurant in north Conway.
With a growing and increasingly varied portfolio of eateries, Castro said the family is working to form a restaurant group.
“Los 3 Potrillos and Don Pepe’s are Mexican food, but we also have the pizzeria with La Pista, which is a different style,” Castro said. “So we want to do a restaurant group.”
Don Pepe’s is the family’s focus for future growth, but no other locations are planned at this time. Castro said the fourth location would most likely be in central Arkansas, citing Little Rock as a potential spot.
