Ali and Adam Dyer want DyerMark to be a go-to partner for Conway businesses, schools, and teams, and they’ve built their business around helping those customers succeed.

“Our goal is to make everybody else’s life easier,” Ali said.

DyerMark started in 2017 with Adam laser-etching tumblers in their garage on nights and weekends. At the time, both still had day jobs: Adam at a company in Maumelle and Ali as a program director in behavioral health.

Over the next few years, the business moved into custom apparel with heat pressing and embroidery. When Adam was laid off in October 2020, he joined Ali full time. Many people were launching businesses during the pandemic, and the Dyers focused on small orders that helped those new owners get started. As those businesses grew, they stayed loyal, and DyerMark grew with them.

In February 2024, that growth allowed the Dyers to buy Illustrated Sportswear, a local custom apparel shop in downtown Conway. The purchase added in-house screen printing to DyerMark’s embroidery and promotional products work, along with a 6,300-square-foot production space.

It also changed the volume that DyerMark could take on. With all its equipment running, the shop can print roughly 1,000 one-color shirts an hour. Beyond apparel, the company handles drinkware, giveaways, and just about any other branded item.

“I tell people if it’ll hold still, we can put a logo on it,” Adam said.

The result is a local shop that can produce at the scale of the big national online suppliers, but where customers work directly with local people.

“We’re not just an online click,” Ali said. “We’re people, and we get to know the people that we work with on a personal level.”

That personal approach shapes how Ali works with clients. She doesn’t leave them to sort through endless options online or figure out how to format a logo file. Instead, she does the research and sends a digital presentation with four or five recommendations based on their event, audience, and budget. It’s especially useful this time of year, when businesses are shopping for client and employee gifts.

The Dyers’ ties to Conway go beyond business. They support local schools and youth sports all across Conway. This year, that includes serving as title sponsor of the Lady Cats Invitational basketball tournament. For Adam, it fits naturally with how the couple already spends their free time.

“We’d be going to all the Conway games and UCA games and tailgating and doing all that stuff anyway,” he said. “It’s nice to be able to provide some support to the town that has supported us.”

Adam grew up in Conway, and he said it’s humbling to now help meet the needs of some of the community’s longtime pillars. He sees the results almost every day. Recently, he spotted a shopper at Sam’s Club wearing a Conway volleyball fundraiser shirt DyerMark had just printed.

A man wearing glasses and a light-colored t-shirt is operating a screen printing machine in a workshop, focusing on the screen with yellow and red ink.

“In my head I’m like, ‘We made that,’” he said. “It’s very, very cool.”

Looking ahead, the Dyers are focused on meeting customers where they are. DyerMark plans to launch a full e-commerce site in early 2027 for customers who would rather order online than visit the shop or pick up the phone. The company is also looking for new ways to work more efficiently, which Ali said helps keep costs down so DyerMark can stay competitive and pass those savings on to customers.

Growth is part of the plan, but Ali said she and Adam try not to get too caught up in it. They would rather keep the same focus that got DyerMark started: helping the customers in front of them.

“We’re trying to keep ourselves focused on who we can help and how we can help them, instead of where we’re trying to go,” she said. “The Lord has brought us this far, and we’re trusting in him to lead us forward.”
